Combiflam Tablet is known to treat pain as well as inflammation. It is counted among the category of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which are helpful in controlling the hormones in the body which are are responsible for pain and inflammation. Hence, combiflam gives relief from various conditions such as headache, back pain, menstrual cramps, toothache and various other small injuries. This medicine can be taken by adults and children who are over 6 months of age.

Combiflam Medicine works by blocking of a prostaglandin production which is known to be released within the body at the time of pain, which in turn increases the threshold of the pain and the blood flow across the skin, sweating and heat loss. This tablet is manufactured by Sanofi Aventis.


Combiflam is used for specially treating the pain which needs analgesia which is stronger than ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. Combiflam uses include the prevention and treatment of the below mentioned diseases, health conditions and symptoms:

Side Effects

Some of the minor Combiflam side effects include hemorrhage, vomiting, anemia, hypertension, eosinophilia, and low hemoglobin levels. There are some of the most common side effects of Combiflam and will not last long. You must get in touch with your doctor as soon as you notice some of the serious side effects like indigestion, weight gain, breathing problem, itchy skin, stomach pain, urination problems, and movements of bowel, feeling very weak or tired, excess acid production in the stomach, etc.

  • Sour stomach or excess acid production in the stomach
  • Acidity or Heartburn

Precautions and How to Use

Before you start using Combiflam tablet, you must consult your doctor and tell him about your current medications, allergies, any pre-existing diseases, your present condition of health(such as any upcoming surgery, pregnancy, etc.), over the counter products(like herbal supplements, vitamins, etc.). Some of the health conditions may make you more prone to the side effects of Combiflam Tablet. Combiflam doses for adults and kids both are based on the current health condition. You must contact your doctor and tell him if your health condition worsens or persists. Some of the important points of counseling are as follows:

  • You must avoid taking salicylates or alcohol for preventing bleeding.
  • You must avoid this medicine if you are allergic to paracetamol.
  • If you hear ringing or roaring in the ears, or develop blurred vision, or you have systemic lupus erythematosus you must consult your doctor.
  • You must not take paracetamol if you take alcohol every day.
  • If you notice any kind of bruising or bleeding, get in touch with your doctor.
  • You should take this medicine after with a meal or snack for preventing an upset stomach.

Action and Related Warnings

There are a few Actions and related warnings you must consider while taking it :

Alcohol: Taking Combiflam with alcohol may lead to liver damage.

PregnancyCombiflam in Pregnancy may be considered to be unsafe. Some animal studies show ill effects on the fetus. However, there are a few human studies. You must consult your doctor before taking Combiflam during pregnancy.

Lactation: Combiflam Tablet is considered to be safe to use in lactation. Human studies show that either this medicine does not pass into the breastmilk in large amounts or it does not cause any toxicity to the baby.

Driving: Combiflam Tablet usually does not affect your ability to drive.

Kidney: Patients suffering from kidney disease must take Combiflam Tablet with caution. Adjustment of dose of Combiflam Tablet may be required in such cases. You must consult your doctor. Combiflam Tablet is not recommended in patients who are suffering from severe kidney disease. Patients taking this medicine for the long term may have problems with kidney function.

Liver: Patients suffering from liver disease must take Combiflam Tablet with caution. Adjustment of dose of Combiflam Tablet may be needed in such cases. You must get in touch with your doctor. Combiflam Tablet is not recommended in patients who are suffering from severe liver disease and active liver disease.
